PRESENTING: Derbyshire Young Achievers' Awards 2012

Before I left my role as News Editor for High Peak Radio I was asked to co-present Derbyshire's Young Achievers' Awards which was a glamorous event with over 500 young people and their parents in Matlock. It was real privilege to be asked to do it and introduce children and teenagers who'd achieved really special things and overcome difficult circumstances.

ONLINE TV: Palatinate Multimedia

After working my way up from a Sub-Editor to the News Editor and then Deputy Editor of Durham University’s student newspaper, Palatinate, I launched its unprecedented Multimedia section. I was responsible for coming up with the idea, getting it off the ground and getting a team together of contributors. I lead and worked as part of a team, using my ingenuity and resourcefulness to get equipment so we could produce online video content.

As part of the project I also produced and presented the Palatinte Debate Show on the student radio station, Purple Radio, to compliment the Comment section of the newspaper.

TV Artefact for my PG Diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

For the piece I researched and found a family in Sheffield. I spent a number of days with them over the summer for the package. It's aimed at young people and to was to tie in with a number of picnics being held across the country for those who are taught at home.

Through my role as a Reporter for Hallam FM I've been really keen to develop ways of complimenting the content of our news bulletins online. I've been using the iPhone to film and produce short reports and additional content. Here's an example, to see more click here.
